Affiliating universities
Every degree programme at Nav Chetna is affiliated to one of these four bodies, which sets the syllabus, conducts the examinations and awards the qualification.
Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University
Affiliating university for Arts, Commerce, Science, Management, Computer Applications and Library Science programmes.
Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University
Central university affiliation covering selected degree programmes.
H.N.B. Uttarakhand Medical Education University
Affiliating university for Nursing, Physiotherapy and Allied Health Science programmes.
Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education
Board of affiliation for technical diploma programmes.
Professional approvals
Professional programmes carry approval from the national or state council that regulates practice in that field.
Pharmacy Council of India
Approval for the Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) programme.
National Council for Teacher Education
Recognition for the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme.
Uttarakhand Nurses & Midwives Council
Registration authority for B.Sc. Nursing and G.N.M. programmes.
What affiliation means for you
A degree from Nav Chetna is awarded by the affiliating university, not by the college. Your mark sheets, your degree certificate and your migration certificate carry the university's name. This matters when you apply for a job, a government post, a postgraduate seat or a visa — the recognition attaches to the university, and the college is the place where the teaching happened.
Which university awards my degree?
- Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University (Tehri) — Arts, Commerce, Science, Management, Computer Applications and Library Science programmes.
- Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University — a central university, for selected degree programmes.
- H.N.B. Uttarakhand Medical Education University (Dehradun) — Nursing, Physiotherapy and Allied Health Science programmes.
- Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education (Roorkee) — technical diploma programmes.
Why council approval matters separately
For professional programmes, university affiliation alone is not enough. A pharmacy diploma must be approved by the Pharmacy Council of India before its holder can register as a pharmacist. A B.Ed. must be recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education before its holder can be appointed to a school post. Nursing programmes must be approved by the State Nursing Council before a graduate can register and practise.
Nav Chetna holds all three. When you compare colleges, ask specifically about council approval for the programme you want — not about the institution in general.
Seats are limited. Start your application today.
Nursing, allied health and pharmacy intakes are capped by the councils that approve them, and they fill early. Apply online, or walk in to either campus and talk to a counsellor — there is no obligation and no charge for the conversation.
