About the programme
B.Lib. is a one-year professional qualification for graduates who want to work in libraries and information centres. It covers the foundations of library and information science, classification and cataloguing practice, reference service and information retrieval.
The modern half of the course matters just as much: library automation software, digital repositories, database searching and information technology applications.
Graduates are employed as librarians and information officers in schools, colleges, universities, government departments, research institutions and corporate information centres.
