About the programme
The M.A. is offered in two streams. Economics covers advanced micro and macroeconomics, econometrics, public finance, international economics and the Indian economy. Political Science covers political theory, comparative politics, international relations, public administration and Indian government and politics.
Both streams carry a research dissertation in the final year, supervised by faculty, which is the strongest preparation for NET/JRF and doctoral work.
The degree is widely taken by students preparing for civil services and state PCS examinations, for whom the syllabus overlaps substantially with the optional papers.
Eligibility
Bachelor's degree with the relevant subject as a main or subsidiary paper.
