Catch a glimpse of the most active campuses in Dehradun

Maduwala carries nursing, allied health, pharmacy and science, with the laboratories and hospital arrangements those need. Garhi Cantt carries commerce, management, computing, education and arts. College transport connects both to the city.

Eighty-seven per cent of our students take part in something beyond their timetable — the annual sports meet, Chetna Utsav, the yoga camp, or one of the clubs.

Outcomes

What our students do next

Most Nav Chetna graduates go one of three ways — straight into employment in the field they trained for, into a government examination they have been preparing for alongside their degree, or into a postgraduate programme. The placement and career cell supports all three.

Nav Chetna Group of Colleges

One of Dehradun's most established college groups

Nav Chetna has been teaching in Dehradun for twenty-one years. In that time more than five thousand students have passed through the two campuses — many of them the first in their family to hold a degree.

The group is deliberately broad. A student can take a professional nursing or pharmacy qualification here, a commerce or management degree, a computing degree, a teaching qualification or a humanities degree — without leaving the city or the group. That breadth is what lets us keep fees at a level families in Uttarakhand can actually meet.

Why Nav Chetna

Six reasons families choose us

Two decades of teaching

Twenty-one years of continuous operation in Dehradun, with more than 5,000 students taught across professional and general programmes.

Clinical training that starts early

Nursing and allied health students are on hospital wards from the first year, not the last — supervised, assessed and treated as part of the team.

Recognised affiliations and approvals

Programmes are affiliated to Uttarakhand's state and central universities and approved by the PCI, NCTE and the State Nursing Council.

Twenty programmes in one group

From a one-year library science degree to a four-year nursing degree — most students find their route here without leaving the city.

Fees that hold their level

Published annual fees, published one-time charges, and concessions of up to 100% for domicile, girl child, defence, sibling, sports and EWS categories.

Faculty who stay

Experienced teachers, many of whom have been with the group for years and know their students individually — the reason 92% of our students graduate on time.

Success stories

Where our students ended up

Six graduates, six routes out — nursing, computing, teaching, commerce, midwifery and management.

The clinical postings started in the first year and that changed everything for me. By the time I finished, I had spent so much time on the wards that my first job did not feel like a first job.

PNPriya NegiB.Sc. Nursing, 2024

The computer labs were open to us for project work whenever we needed them, and the faculty pushed us to actually build applications rather than only write examinations. I joined a software firm in Dehradun within two months.

ARAnkit RawatBCA, 2023

The school internship was the most useful part of the course. Standing in front of a real class with a mentor watching taught me more than any lecture could have. I cleared CTET the same year.

Questions

FAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions)

The things prospective students and parents ask us most often.

What is the last date to apply for the 2026–27 session?

Applications are accepted until seats in a programme are filled. Nursing, allied health and pharmacy programmes have limited council-approved intakes and generally close earliest, so applying early matters. Call +91 87557 37722 for the current position in a specific programme.

Are the degrees recognised?

Yes. Programmes are affiliated to Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University, Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, H.N.B. Uttarakhand Medical Education University or the Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education, depending on the programme. D.Pharm is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India, B.Ed. by the NCTE, and the nursing programmes by the State Nursing Council.

Is there an entrance examination?

Most programmes admit on the basis of qualifying-examination merit. Where a state entrance test or centralised counselling applies — as it does for B.Ed. and for some nursing seats — admission follows that process. The admission office will tell you which route applies to you.

Can I get a scholarship, and how much?

Concessions run up to 100% depending on category and merit. Available heads include Uttarakhand domicile, girl child, sibling, defence personnel, SC/ST/OBC, differently abled, EWS, sports achievement and employee family. Apply with the supporting certificate at the time of admission — see the scholarships page.

Is hostel accommodation available?

Separate residential accommodation is available for women and men, with mess facilities and warden supervision. Outstation students should indicate their requirement at the time of application so that a place can be arranged before the session begins.

Which campus will I study at?

Nursing, allied health, pharmacy and science programmes run principally from the Maduwala campus near Bala Sundri Mandir. Commerce, management, computer applications, education and arts programmes run from the Garhi Cantt campus on Dakra Road. Your admission letter confirms the campus.
