About the programme
This degree treats yoga as a discipline with both a practical and a scholarly side. Students practise asana, pranayama, kriya, mudra and meditation daily, and study the texts these practices come from — the Yoga Sutras, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the Bhagavad Gita.
The scientific half covers human anatomy and physiology, the physiological effects of yogic practice, yoga therapy for common conditions, diet and naturopathy.
Graduates work as yoga instructors and therapists in studios, wellness resorts, schools and hospitals — a growing sector in Uttarakhand — or continue to an M.A. in Yoga.
Eligibility
10+2 in any stream from a recognised board.
